The cause of Cory Monteith's death, who's body was found in a Vancouver hotel last weekend, (July 13th) has been revealed.  The coroner announced, Monteith died from a mixture of heroin and alcohol. The investigation will continue and the coroner's office won't comment again until it's complete.

The family is asking for privacy, as they grieve for their loss.

Fans and friends are still reeling from Monteith's death.  He was only 31 and had such a bright future ahead of him.  Monteith and his co-star Lea Michele had been dating and rumored to be moving in together. He had just filming a movie called 'McCanick,' where he plays Simon Weeks, a drug addicted street hustler, just released from prison. Ironic?  He actually asked for the role, feeling he could pull from his real life experience.

Monteith had been battling drug and alcohol problems for years.  He recently entered rehab to get help.  It's a shame he didn't get the help he needed when he was there.

The new season of 'Glee' will have to be reworked. The first two episodes had been written before Monteith's death, with production to begin in weeks, according to PopCrush.  Monteith played Finn Hudson on the Fox hit series.  I wonder how producers will handle his death on the show.

Such a tragedy. Such a loss.  Another taken too soon because of addiction.
