If you purchased a ladder this spring at Lowe’s or Home Depot in New Hartford, Syracuse or Rome, you may have a defective and dangerous item. Werner has issued a recall on 78,000 of its reticulated ladders sold in Central New York and beyond, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The company received a report of an injury while using one of the ladders, which are designed to hold up to 375 pounds. The ladders in question were sold in April and May of 2018. If you have one, you should return it to its point of purchase for a full refund. Here are the specs on the ladders in question:

The potentially defective model numbers are MT-IAA-13A, 17A, 22A, 26 and 26A. The two applicable date codes are 121744XX and 011844XX. The model numbers of the ladders can be found on a label along the ladder rail, while the date codes of the potentially defective items are located under the bottom step.
