Denzel Washington Is America’s Favorite Movie Star

Congrats to Denzel Washington.  He's been named America's favorite movie star by the annual Harris Poll.  This isn't the first time he's been on the list, although it has been a while. 

Washington was chosen as favorite movie star in 2008.  Johnny Depp was the favorite movie star for the last two years.  I have to admit Washington is one of my favorite actors.   Isn't he great in Crimson Tide and Training Day?  Kudos to Meryl Streep for being the only woman to crack the top ten.   Here's who else made it into the top ten for favorite movie stars:

Here's something interesting.  Even though he's been dead since 1979, John Wayne is the only actor to be on the list every year since 1994.  This is also the first time Brad Pitt has  been on the list since 1998.  Matt Damon, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt knocked Adam Sandler, Will Smith and Sandra Bullock off the list.  Women pick Denzel Washington as their favorite and guys pick Clint Eastwood.
