Disney Channel has announced they're ready to reboot the classic "DuckTales" cartoon and they're bringing it to Disney XD in 2017.

I'm guessing the idea for a reboot of the series came up after a YouTube video became highly popular. The video is of the original "DuckTales" theme song, but it also has real ducks 'acting' out the song.

The same memorable characters will be back including Scrooge McDuck and Donald Duck. And of course you can't forget about the triplets - Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Other characters will also be making their comeback. According to Mashable,

other characters also set to return, including butler Duckworth, inventor Gyro Gearloose, pilot Launchpad McQuack, Scrooge's archenemy Flintheart Glomgold, villainous Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), nanny Mrs. Beakley and Webby.

The new "DuckTales" will still be based on the classic version and it's being produced by Disney Television Animation.

The original "DuckTales" was part of 'The Disney Afternoon' which ran from 1987 - 1990. It has been more than 20 years, but this reboot could bring a whole new generation of children loving these classic ducks.

A report from Comic Book stated,

Marc Buhaj, Programming and General Manager at Disney XD, made the announcement, saying, “DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

Disney XD will air the rebooted "DuckTales" starting in 2017.
