Dry Ice and a Water Bottle

What happens when you drop dry ice into a water bottle? Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO2). When the dry ice hits water, the solid converts to carbon dioxide gas. The gas expands beyond the ability to be held within the plastic. There are videos of the ‘science experiment’ on YouTube.

THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NOT BE ATTEMPTED EVER.
