The Fort Hill American Legion Post 376 has announced that they are collecting certain donated goods for a local military package for the 1156th Engineer Company, New York Army National Guard out of Kingston, and Camp Smith. Here's how to help and donate.

Jessica Thompson on behalf of her husband, Rob, has started taking donations. Rob is a member of Post 376, and is currently serving with the 1156th Engineer Company, New York Army National Guard out of Kingston, and Camp Smith. This “care package” will be sent to Rob's whole unit, for men and women, to show our support from Central New York. Drop offs must be made by February 19th at Post 376 located at 17 South Washington Avenue in Oxford New York.

Some donation ideas are, but are not limited to:

Snacks- Beef jerky, Slim Jims, drink powders (iced tea, Gatorade, hot chocolate, etc), liquid drink packets/drops (Mio, etc), protein bars, energy drinks, granola bars, hard candy, tuna packets, canned/cup fruit, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, ground coffee, creamer (reg/flavored), instant oatmeal, cereal, crackers, popcorn, and peanuts.

Toiletries- baby wipes, Head & Shoulders shampoo, body wash, Q-tips, shaving cream, razors, deodorant (Old Spice, Gillette, some female items), toothpaste, bar soap (Dove, Dial), Chapstick, Vicks, Icy Hot, ibuprofen/Tylenol, foot powder, multivitamins, and hand soap.

Also feel free to donate puzzle books (word, number), laundry pods, dryer sheets, cleaning cloths for glasses, glasses cleaner, socks, plastic model kits, Itunes gift cards, wash cloths, card games, DVDs, batteries, throw blankets, books, Febreze, and travel games.
