In a letter to Cornhill neighborhood residents, Utica mayor Rob Palmieri is asking residents to join him in taking back the portion of Dudley Avenue known as 'D Block.'

The D-block is considered the most crime-ridden portion of the city.  D Block is the 1500 block of Dudley Ave between James and Arthur.

The first step in the change: drop the name D block.  Says Palmieri, "our street is called Dudley Avenue.... Renewal begins when we remember that Cornhill is our neighborhood, not 'the hood.'"

Do you think that we can band together as a community and improve the blighted sections of our community?
