While the rest of the country prepared for Halloween, one small Ohio town was focused on Christmas – for a very good reason.

The town of Port Clinton recently got together to have a Christmas celebration for Devin Kohlman, a 13-year-old boy battling brain cancer. Chemotherapy is no longer working and doctors estimate he only has a few months to live.

Enter the people of Port Clinton.

When they learned Devin was coming home last week, they decorated the area outside his window with a Christmas theme to welcome him back. His mother said he wants to celebrate the holiday:

We want Devin to have the best Christmas that he's ever had. And we want to make sure that he has Christmas."

And it certainly looked like Christmas – hundreds of people came together, donned in the traditional red and green Christmas colors, singing carols and sending balloons into the sky.

Port Clinton Mayor Vincent Leone said it's just a matter of sticking together. "[We're] trying to give some type of relief to the parents to let them know that they're not in it alone," he said. "We're here to support them."
