We've never stabbed anyone, but we can imagine it's one way to totally end a friendship. Ed Sheeran almost found this out the hard way.

'The A Team' singer told MTV that he was gifted a sword from the film 'Lord of the Rings' by director Peter Jackson. This was no prop sword though -- Sheeran said it was a steel, sharpened blade.

He then decided it was a good item to bring it on board with him on a flight in Taylor Swift's plane from Omaha, Neb. to Nashville, Tenn. And shock of shocks, guess what people?! It turned out that was a bad idea. He said, "The plane is kind of taking off and [the sword] started sliding down and I was like, 'No!' It was just about to impale Taylor." That's one way to really ruin a tour!

However, Sheeran did say that Swift and her team were a bit wary of his carry-on, saying, "I think [Taylor] and her crew were weirded out by it anyway. They were just like, 'Why does Ed have a sword?'"

He also admitted that he and Taylor don't really hang out after their shows, though we can imagine that the near-stabbing incident isn't helping Ed's stock to get into T.Swift's inner-circle. Sheeran usually hangs with Taylor's dancers during off-hours, and they've frequented blues dive bars together where Ed practices his patented "Feed the Birds and Shoot Them Down" dance move. It's certainly a sight to see.
