It's summer and that means warm weather, adventures, and camping. This weekend I headed out to Eighth Lake for some more New York-style camping!

It was another 'New to Naomi' adventure this weekend - heading into the Adirondack State Park, up to Eighth Lake. Now, I've already experienced New York-style camping (because you guys KNOW what you're doing out here) when I headed to Fish Creek Ponds Campground. This was my first time staying in Eighth Lake however, and what an amazing time it was!

I headed out on Thursday, and the day started right away with setting up the campsite (which is a job all in itself). After everything was good to go - the actual fun of camping could start! KanJam and kayaking, cooking food, drinking, and telling stories around the campfire - that's what it's all about. Every night was a late-night, and every morning was an early one. I don't think I've ever packed so much into one weekend!

I have to say, Eighth Lake was a pretty cool area, and now that I'm getting the hang of this New York-style camping - I'm up for more adventures in the Adirondack State Park. The park is huge, though. I could probably camp at a new campground, in a new part of the park every weekend - and it would still take me YEARS to explore it all! Overall, it was a great weekend, and I look forward to what my next 'New to Naomi' adventure will hold!
