Elton John’s New Baby Cover-Up. Mark’s Take
A grocery store in Arkansas has censored the photo of Elton John and partner David Furnish with their newborn son on the cover of US Weekly, by covering it with a “Family Shield.” Showbiz reported that Harps grocery store shopper Jennifer Huddleston snapped the picture of the magazine placed behind a protective piece of gray plastic, which read, “Family Shield. To protect young shoppers,” and posted it to her Twitter.com blog. See the picture snapped by Jennifer

and the “protective shield” .
A company spokesperson for Harps, said that the magazine was only censored after “several” customer complaints at that particular store. The rep added that covering up the photo of two men with their child was “in no way our opinion on this issue” and went on to add: “We do not have an opinion on this issue.”
Do you really believe that there really was a complaint about the content of the magazine cover? OR is covering the photo simply a way to protect parents from having to answer questions about sexuality that perhaps their kids aren’t ready to be learning about?
There are plenty of TV shows with this subject matter, Modern Family on ABC, CBS’s Two And A Half Men — how come THAT’S not deemed as offensive?
I’d better stop now, but feel free to comment. I enjoy the feedback.
