Animal lovers, be forewarned. This story and photo is a tough one. The Stevens-Swan Humane Society is working with a dog they named Autumn who arrived at the shelter this week in the arms of the Utica Police.

Autumn was found wandering in West Utica neighborhood off Whitesboro Street. She was gaunt, skin-and-bones and had a shoelace tied around her neck.

Stevens-Swan says that she continues to make improvement but the next few days are critical.
