Emma Watson Taking a Break From Acting to Finish School
Emma Watson, easily one of the most sought after actresses of her generation after her star-making turn as Hermione in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, is putting her career on the backburner so she can finish her degree at Brown University.
That's the good news. Even better news? Oh, just the fact that Watson will graduate in May, so she's only stepping away from acting for a few months! She had put her studies on ice while she went back to acting, but clearly, Watson, 23, is a woman who finishes what she starts in all aspects of her life.
Watson will graduate from the Rhode Island-based Ivy League school with a degree in English. Earning her degree has cost her, though. She has had to turn down a few parts so she can grab that piece of paper next spring.
"Emma is in demand with Hollywood directors but has so much to focus on with her studies, that she has had to pass on a few things -- she simply can’t do everything," an insider said. "It’s tough, but she believes it was the right thing."
Something tells us that if she was offered a part she couldn't refuse, Watson would have figured out a way to make it work! Once she gets her degree, she will continue to pick and choose her roles as she always has.
Her next film, the epic 'Noah,' lands at the multiplex in March. She plays the adopted daughter of Russell Crow's Noah from the Biblical story of the ark.
