I caught this stirring advertisement on TV last night from Empire State Development promoting the New NY. Robert De Niro does the narration and the score is Alicia Keys's "Empire State of Mind (Part II)". It provides a pulse-pumping 30 second tour through the history of New York and the innovations that made us the Empire State in more than name.

The video is very reminiscent of what Chrysler did to promote domestic autos with the 'Imported from Detroit' commericals that ran during the 2011 Superbowl.

The campaign is called the New NY Works for Business and promotes New York as being business friendly, hoping to buck the supposition that the state is taxing businesses and citizens to the point that they are fleeing.
