The 18th annual Black Fly Challenge Adirondack Mountain Bike Race, presented by Mountainman Outdoor Supply, will start in Indian Lake at 10:30a.m. on Saturday June 8. Racers will compete for a share of the biggest purse in race history - over $8,200.00 - for competitors in 31 different categories and age classes.

The finish line will be at Inlet’s Fern Park, which will open at 12-noon with live music, a beer garden, food by Inlet Volunteer Emergency Services, sponsors, vendors and awards. Over half the 40-mile race goes through the wild and scenic Moose River Recreation Area with a mix of bikes found nowhere else: mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, tandems, even unicycles and a triplet bike have completed the race.

The BFC has become an annual ritual for many cycling enthusiasts in the Eastern U.S. and beyond with entries from as far away as Colorado. Some call it ‘the Adirondacks Greatest Race’ and deservedly so. The Black Fly Challenge has grown from a regional cycling event to become the biggest bike
