Gala Art Auction for Charity Hosted by The Rome Lions Club

The Rome Lions Club will be holding a Gala Art Auction at the Delta Lake Inn on April 20th starting at 6PM to benefit area programs in the Rome Community. Tickets are $20 per person or $35 per couple.

The Rome Lions Club has a 65 year history of contribution to the city of Rome, and wants to keep on the tradition. This year, it is also the International Lions Club’s 100th Anniversary. In the spirit of humanitarian service, the Rome Lions Club is holding this fundraising art auction to be able to help support some worthy programs here in Rome. “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.”

Currently, a portion of the proceeds will be going towards the Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen to assist in helping them meet their mission with their Elder City Meals Program. Loaves and Fishes picked up the mission to feed elderly members of our community on the weekends when Meals on Wheels was defunded in the county. Currently, they serve 160 clients every weekend, and provide some much needed socialization as well. They have had calls to expand this service, but current demand exceeds their ability to supply that. We want to help.

This event has a great potential to help many people. We are hoping that members of the Rome community will come out and support the event and enjoy themselves while they get to see some great pieces of art in the beautiful setting of the Delta Lake Inn. The best feature about the auction is that when participants buy tickets in advance, they are able to request the work by artists and genres of art that they would like to be able to see to purchase. These may include artists in across several genres, from lesser known to very well known artists such as Picasso! Even if people can’t attend for some reason, the possibility exists that art purchases can support the proceeds of the auction, so contact Lion Sue Bailey as below for more information.

Members of the business community can also contribute by donating items or services for auction/raffles/door prizes or sponsoring an ad in the Auction booklet that will be given to all participants.
