The Syracuse Fairgrounds will transform into a world of light and sculpture at the first-ever New York State Chinese Lantern Festival.

The festival opens April 14 and runs through July 25, and is open every day in between except for Mondays.

With 20 all new displays, the festival will feature 1,000 Lantern Sculptures made on site by 30+ artists from China.

You can see a baby panda in Panda World, flowers, peacocks, cranes, butterflies, archways and even a three-story Chinese Pagoda. Be sure to check out the 200 foot long dragon too!

The sculptures are made of welded metal frames covered in silk and fabric, and lit from within by LED lights.

You'll also be able to watch beautiful cultural performances and of course sample Chinese and New York State foods.
