“From the studio that brought you ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’!” No, not Marvel; Fox.

This is Fox’s second attempt at a ‘Fantastic Four’ franchise, rebooted back to square one with a new director (‘Chronicle’’s Josh Trank) and cast (Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell as Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, respectively). For months, the studio was differentiating it from the previous film series (which produced two thoroughly mediocre ‘FF’ adventures in 2005 and 2007) by calling it ‘The Fantastic Four,’ but the title card of this trailer reverts back to the old article-less name. I guess this thing isn’t so definitive after all.

Fox has kept this film under wraps for a while, and recently some nasty rumors about the production have begun popping up online. But mostly the teaser looks fine. And, at least so far, it looks pretty faithful to the comics, with the four heroes going off into space (or something) and coming back with all kinds of crazy powers (Miles Teller’s tattered suit as he uses his powers for the first time looks a lot like the one Reed Richards wore in the very first ‘FF’ comic). Teller looks like a bit of a stretch (thank you) as a nerdy scientist, but he’s a really good actor so it’s way too early to judge anything right now.

In an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg said fans could expect a hidden easter egg in the new trailer, and we do believe we’ve found it. At the :46 second mark, as Sue Storm looks at a bank of computer screens, the numbers 23.21.190.125 appear briefly on the bottom left.

Enter those numbers into your internet address bar and you’re directed to this Wikia entry on Latveria, the fictional Marvel nation ruled by Doctor Doom (who’s supposedly a hacker in this version).
