The demolition of the Fay Street warehouse in Utica has been delayed.

The State Department of Transportation says the demolition is being postponed due to permitting requirements.

The DOT expects the demolition to happen in March and will announce a new date soon.

The implosion of the building had been set for February 9th.

Removal of the building is part of the North-South Arterial project.

The #UticaBigBang2014 drawing to help implode the warehouse will proceed with the drawing on February 3 with the winner having the opportunity initiate the implosion.
