‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’-Is It A Must Read?

British author E.L. James is now a household name, thanks to her extremely successful ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trilogy. The books remain at the top of the best-seller list and is one of the fastest selling book series ever. A movie is in the works, along with a classical CD in stores September 18th.
Over the past two days, three women have asked me if I’ve read ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ to which I replied, “no, I’m lucky to find time to take a shower these days.” All of them urged me to buy the book, promising I’ll be so hooked, I won’t be able to put it down or sleep. As a parent of two young children, sleep is a rare commodity, especially when one of them is teething. I’ve heard lots of buzz about E.L. James’ book. It’s a smash worldwide, selling an outrageous amount of books. 31 million was the last number I heard. Then there’s the movie and talk of who should play the role of Christian, etc. Plus the classical CD inspired by the book. My question is, should I make the time to read this book? (and the other two in the series) Is is that good? Will I be more sleep deprived then ever but happy because the book was worth my precious shut-eye? If you’ve read it, I’d love your feedback. In the meantime, I have a date with my pillow.
