Fiscal Cliff Haikus Trending on Twitter

The fiscal cliff has been the topic of national discussion since the 2012 presidential election. While there’s not much the average American can do to when it comes to averting the cliff, we can cope by writing haikus.
The haikus began showing up under hashtag #fiscalcliffhaiku
The Japanese verse written in three lines of seventeen syllables.
The lines go 5-7-5 syllables.
Okay. Here goes the first haiku I’ve written in 20 years:
We loom on the brink
Fiscal doom from inaction
It’s a Cliffhanger
Our colleague at the Observer Dispatch, Courtney Potts wrote some great ones. Hers and others from around Twitter.
