Five Things I’m Excited About When Returning to the Utica Area
Hey if you've listened to Lite 98.7 in the morning you'll notice that, surprise, I'm not Mark. If we've not yet been formally introduced, I'm Matt Hubbell the new host of the Most Music Morning Show. Since returning to Utica and the Mohawk Valley, here are five things I've missed since living in Tennessee.
The Pizza
You'd probably not be surprised that pizza outside of New York state is awful! When I lived in the south it was all cardboard and sauce. Not like the unique pizza of the Utica area...
Chicken Riggies
If I were to ask someone in the south what a riggie is they might respond something like this..."Ain't it dat thing with tires dat I hook up to my pickup truck?" Everyone in Central New York knows riggie translates to "straight up deliciousness!"
Running the Boilermaker
I wasn't in great shape when I ran this trademark 15k...and honestly it didn't make a difference! The tremendous support, along with popscicles, live music, and orange slices were enough to encourage even the unfit me to finish the race!
The Weather
The change of seasons is refreshing to me. Autumn hikes in the Adirondacks, Winter snowmobiling adventures in Old Forge, Spring bike rides along the Erie Canal, and Summers at Delta Lake!
The People
I've lived near Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York City but Utica, NY has my heart! I love the genuine and down to earth vibe here in the Mohawk Valley.
