An interesting forecast model for Hurricane Sandy could bring the heart of this potentially dangerous storm right over Central New York.
This model was created by WeatherUnderground and in it, the moving-out-to-sea scenario appears less likely.
There are several potential landfall locations shown stretching from Delaware to Maine. The path outlined in white appears to forecast a landfall occurring north of Boston somewhere on the narrow coastline of New Hampshire, perhaps near Portsmouth. The forecast then shows Sandy turning inward passing though southern Vermont and into the Adirondacks of New York State.
