If that pot of coffee isn't phasing you and you just can't seem to get through your to-do list for the day, turn on you're favorite radio station (ahem, US) and let us give you that infusion of inspiration that can get you over that brain-block wall that you're staring at.

Here's the secret according to one expert:

In biological terms, melodious sounds help encourage the release of dopamine in the reward area of the brain, as would eating a delicacy, looking at something appealing or smelling a pleasant aroma, said Dr. Amit Sood, a physician of integrative medicine with the Mayo Clinic. People’s minds tend to wander, “and we know that a wandering mind is unhappy,” Dr. Sood said. “Most of that time, we are focusing on the imperfections of life.” Music can bring us back to the present moment.

In a  recent study, participants of all skill levels were encouraged to choose their favorite music and while rookies tended to be thrown off with the radio on, seasoned veterans didn't seem to be affected either positively or negatively while listening. So, if you fall somewhere in between, then you stand to see the most improvement.

I once heard that flowers tended to grow better if they were subjected to classical music versus heavy metal but this is human beings we're talking about so maybe Megadeth can help you through your workday just as well as Mozart helps the person in the cubicle next to you.

So, keep those radios tuned to this station and your radiopup app humming and we'll be happy to accept the credit for your next promotion!
