Green Lakes State Park is a great place to go for swimming, golfing and family fun all summer long. And the free movies are back every Saturday night starting Memorial Day Weekend.

Just a short trip west on Route 5, Green Lakes State Park in Fayettville is another CNY gem. The pristine lakes were formed by glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age, leaving a unique footprint on the landscape. There's also a world-class Robert Trent Jones-designed 18-hole golf course in the park. The free movies are an added bonus on Saturday nights. The films are shown on a huge inflatable screen outdoors. There's a campfire and s'mores at 8, with the movie starting at 9. Popcorn will also be available. Here's the full schedule:

  • Sing - 5/27/17
  • Tangled - 6/3/17
  • The BFG - 6/10/17
  • Brave - 6/17/17
  • Zootopia - 6/24/17
  • Ice Age: Collision Course - 7/1/17
  • Hugo - 7/8/17
  • No movie - 7/15/17
  • Lego Batman - 7/22/17
  • Moana - 7/29/17
  • Finding Dory - 8/5/17
  • Enchanted - 8/12/17
  • No movie - 8/19/17
  • Secret Life of Pets - 8/26/17
  • The Jungle Books - 9/1/17

The movies are free, but they do charge a vehicle entry fee of $8 per car. Make a full day of it with swimming and hiking, and stick around for the show. In case of rain they do have an alternate indoor location, but you'll have to call to find out where it is that night - (315) 637-6111.
