One of the worst things for any parent is the thought of having to have their child get killed. Unfortunately, the family of 11 year old Central New Yorker Kaylee Wacht had to live those terrible moments after Wacht was killed on December 4th. What could make the situation even worse? The family had their car broken into during the funeral service.

According to PIX 11, family members had their cars broken into while attending a gathering following her funeral. The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several break-ins that occurred immediately following the funeral last weekend.

Kimberly Wacht, Kaylee’s mother, says at least four vehicles parked at the VFW hall in Dryden were broken into while family and friends were at a luncheon.

According to the police reports, car windows were smashed and purses were stolen. One purse contained a family member’s Christmas money, and another with $700 in donations for the immediate family.

You can donate to a GoFundMe page created after Kaylee's death to help the family cover funeral expenses. The goal of $10,000 has been reached, but you can still donate.
