2011 was a watershed year for author George R.R. Martin.  He saw his Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels become of the most talked about TV series of the year with HBO's 'A Game of Thrones.'  The fourth novel in the ASOIF series, 'A Dance with Dragons,' shot to the top of the best seller charts.

Now fans have can get their first taste of the next volume in the series, 'The Winds of Winter."  Martin has posted a sample chapter on his website.
