Get More From Your Gas Tank
If you’ve filled up your car lately, you’ve noticed the price of gas keeps going higher. We’re paying about nine cent more now than we were a month ago, with local prices around $3.35 a gallon. I came across some tips to get the most out of your tank of gas.
-Keep an eye on your tires. Make sure they’re not under-inflated or poorly aligned, which force the engine to work harder.
-Get rid of excess weight. Take out any unnecessary items from your car. Less weight means better mileage.
-Avoid excessive idling. If you’re waiting for someone, shut off the engine.
-Obey the speed limit. Going 75mph really burns up the gas.
-Keep your engine tuned up. If the engine is operating at peak effeiciency, you’ll get the most of out your gas mileage.
-Consolidate errands. Plus, try to drive when there isn’t as much traffic so you can avoid lots of stop and go.
