Naomi Lynn gets some helpful tips from Deb Cabral, the DeClutter Coach, on how to organize for Thanksgiving and make the holiday less stressful. These tips could help you, too!

We're glad to be back with Deb Cabral, the DeClutter Coach, and get some great tips and tricks when it comes to organizing our lives. It's amazing how a little bit of organization in different areas of our lives can save us SO much time, money, and energy. And this week, the DeClutter Coach helps us get organized for Thanksgiving. And the best part? It's so simple to do, you'll wonder why you haven't been doing it all along.

In this week's video (which you can see at the top of the page), I share with Deb Cabral the fact that I'm happy about Thanksgiving this year because I didn't wait until the last minute to take care of my shopping and getting ready for the holiday. But, even though I (think) I have everything I need, it's still stressful when Thanksgiving Day actually hits. It's hard to get all the food ready on time, have everything ready to go in the proper dishes, making sure the potatoes aren't getting cold while you're still waiting for the green bean casserole to finish, and basically trying not to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off... or should we say turkey?

Anyway, Deb Cabral had some amazing tips to help de-stress the Thanksgiving situation, and all it takes is a little organization. The DeClutter Coach explains that you should create a Thanksgiving menu, that includes all the dishes you'll be making, the temperature they have to cook at, and how long they have to cook. That way all the info is right in front of you and you can plan your best course of action to execute your Thanksgiving dinner. In the clip from her "Organized in 60 Seconds" video, Deb also says to get all your serving dishes out ahead of time, and label them with sticky notes, so you know where everything will be going. This is also great if you have kids or family members that would like to help, they will be able to see where everything is going.

After the clip from "Organized in 60 Seconds," the DeClutter Coach also had some special tips and tricks to share to make Thanksgiving more festive and fun for the whole family. First of all, you can pick up some fun, goofy Thanksgiving-themed items (which you can see in the video above), things like hats, cutouts, and other goodies everyone can enjoy.

Deb Cabral also shares a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition she shares with her family. When everyone arrives, they write what they're thankful for on a slip of paper, but they don't sign it. Later in the day, they read through all the pieces of paper and try to guess who wrote what. Deb says some of them are more serious, but others are goofy and it just makes for a fun holiday game.

Lastly, Deb had a great suggestion when it comes to getting your Thanksgiving decorations. As soon as Thanksgiving is over, head to the store and pick up your decorations for the next year, everything will be on sale and you'll save a bunch of money. Whether you want to pick up Thanksgiving-scented candles, pumpkins, turkey figurines, or whatnot, you can get them at huge deals and not have to worry about picking them up at full price for Thanksgiving 2018.

We want to thank Deb Cabral for sharing these wonderful Thanksgiving tips with us. She will be joining us every Monday with more helpful tips and tricks to help us get organized, whether we're getting ready for the Christmas season, the New Year, taking care of our finances, or other places in our lives where a little organization can save us time, money, and effort.
