It's another 'Get Organized' segment. This time, Naomi Lynn and Deb Cabral head to Bite Bakery and Cafe in Utica to talk about keeping your refrigerator neat and organized.

In the video (at the top of this page), you can see that Deb Cabral and I took a little field trip to Bite Bakery for this week's "Get Organized with Naomi Lynn" episode. It's hard to believe we're at a bakery and cafe with delicious treats, when we're going to be talking about healthy eating, but we'll get to that in a moment. First, we want to jump into this week's organizing tips from Deb Cabral. This segment is all about getting and keeping your fridge nice and uncluttered, and this will make it easier to eat better and healthier.

Deb Cabral explains in the video, that if healthy foods are easy to access in your refrigerator, you're more likely to eat them. She says to store like-items together in your fridge, and using clear bins from the Container Store is a great way to do this. That way you can easily see all your healthy food options. Then, you can get a larger bin to hold all the smaller bins together, making it very easy to "grab-and-go" healthy snacks. You can do the same with fresh veggies to make putting together a delicious salad, fast and hassle-free.

In the video, Deb Cabral shows us some great containers that can be used to store and keep nuts fresh, which is another great choice when you're trying to eat healthy.

If your refrigerator is nice and organized, you'll cut down on your food waste (because you'll know exactly what's in your fridge, and everything will be easy to access), and that will save you money. And we could all save a little bit of money, right?!

Alright, so I mentioned we would get to why we decided to head to Bite Bakery and Cafe if we're talking about healthy eating. First of all, Deb mentions that the cafe does have many options for healthy eating. And of course we love being out in the community, and Bite's owners Doug and Jason (who you can see in the video at the top of this page), are just two amazing people that we wanted to stop by and chat with. But probably the biggest reason (and something that anyone who has ever been on a diet knows), you have to have balance - You have to treat yourself once in a while, otherwise you're going to get tired of not being able to enjoy something sweet or sugary, and you'll eventually end up overindulging later.

We wrapped up this week's video by asking Doug and Jay what their favorite treats from the Bakery are. You can hear their answers and hear about a healthy treat they offer, in the video (at the top of this page).

We want to thank Doug and Jason for letting us come in and hang out at Bite Bakery and Cafe for the afternoon. And as always, we want to thank Deb Cabral for giving us another great tip to help us get organized. You can always get more tips for organizing by following Deb Cabral at: OrganizedIn60Seconds.com.
