If you're planning on a hike to see some of the best waterfalls New York has to offer, you'll have to avoid one in the Finger Lakes region. The Gorge Trail at Taughannock Falls State Park is temporarily closed.

Additional scaling and maintenance on sections of The Gorge Trail is still needed before it can re-open.

It's not all bad news. The North Rim Trail and the South Rim Trail in the park will remain open.

Anyone found on the closed trail could be fined $250.

Taughannock Falls is one of the outstanding natural attractions of the Northeast, offering spectacular views. Campsites and cabins overlook Cayuga Lake.
