Governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to make a public push for gun control legislation in his 'State of the State' address around 1:30 pm today. The Governor hopes we'll tune in to hear his plans for our state regarding flood control, raising the minimum wage, the research center and the prevention of gun violence.

The “New York Daily News” reports Cuomo will launch a major public-relations blitz on Senate Republicans with help from national and state anti-gun groups if GOP lawmakers in the Senate continue to disregard gun control legislation.

Governor Cuomo unveiled a plan over the weekend written by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos that tightens restrictions on illegal guns. Many New Yorkers are concerned that it doesn’t move far enough toward a ban on assault weapons. To find out what the Governor has to say today, tune to WIBX-950 am.
