Every once in a while a real shocker comes down the pipe from "The Academy."  And they did it again Sunday night giving a relative unknown, to the pop music world, the nod for Best New Artist.

Some said it was a statement in support of "real music" over pop's heavily manufactured auto-tuned contemporary sounds.  So if you haven't heard the jazz of bassist Esperanza Spalding, like I hadn't, here's a taste.
