Next time mom wants to take the grandkids, you definitely should let her. A new study shows grandmothers who spend time taking care of their grandchildren have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

 

Good news all around! Your kids get to spend time with their grandparents, you can run some errands or take care of whatever you need to do, and your parents get an amazing health benefit. It's a win-win-win! Check out the report from CBS below.

 

 

The only downfall in that study is the fact that grandparents spending five or more days with their grandchildren had their cognitive function drop. So it looks like dropping off the kids at their grandparents is great, just don't do it for a week at a time. Either way, it's a pretty cool find that could lead to other breakthroughs with Alzheimer's disease, and other cognitive disorders.
