Last year I had a blast passing out candy to all the ghouls, goblins, and ice princesses at Trick or Treat Street. This year Naomi and I look forward to having more fun!

Saturday is Halloween and I can't wait to see just how many unique and creative costumes I'll get to see at Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford. Last year, the place was jam packed with happy and excited kids. I mean, you'd be smiling too if you had a giant bag filled with sweet treats right?

Trick or Treat Street takes place from 11am-Noon this weekend. According to Americantowns.com:

The event gives children the opportunity to trick or treat in safe, fun & warm environment. Trick or Treat Street  The Eagle, Fidelis Care and Gates-Cole Insurance. All of the sponsors will be on hand to give treats to the kids!

After your little ones are done collecting candy, would you consider giving a pet a new lease on life?

How would you like to adopt a "45 mph couch potato?" OK, I doubt that's the nickname you have assigned to your significant other. Actually, that's the "pet" phrase assigned to the fastest breed of dog in existence: The Greyhound. From 12-4pm on Halloween, Kindred Spirits Greyhound Adoption Inc. will be at Sangertown Square in the hopes of finding some dogs a home.  According to their website:

Kindred Spirits mission is to rescue greyhounds from the racing industry once their careers are over and to find responsible forever homes in the Central New York area for any sighthound in need.

Greyhounds are known to have a gentle and affectionate nature and are often overlooked as potential pets due to the the many myths that surround them. Please take some time to visit the adoption team while your at Trick or Treat Street this weekend.

Just Jen and I talked about this today.
