If you're sick of flat tires, good news. It appears that the wheel has officially been re-invented. Polaris Defense, famous for high quality Utility Vehicles and ATV's designed for military use, has recently introduced the Non-Pneumatic Tire. This rugged tire, which is airless, is designed to not get flat on the road. But how is the ride? Can it handle high speeds?

The honeycomb-like structure inside keeps the tire rigid without requiring you to fill it with air like traditional tires. Officials have tested the NPTs over 5,000 miles and have even shot it a .50 caliber bullet! This tire is so tough you can continue to drive on it, even at high speeds, with up to 30 percent of the web damaged. Is this the end of air-filled tires? Time will tell.
