Who steals from children? That's the question being asked by Ilion's entire Pop Warner Football organization after their donation jar was recently stolen from the Ilion Nice N Easy.

The jar was there to collect money to help offset the cost of uniforms, equipment, and two programs that get kids involved with Pop Warner football and cheerleading.

The Ilion Angels offers a Challenger team for special needs children across the Mohawk Valley as well as employing a 'no child left behind' program that allows kids who cant afford to sign up a chance to play for free.

The money from the stolen collection jar was intended to be used for these programs, and while money from one jar won't make all the difference, it could mean the difference of one or two children not being able to play or cheer this season.

Members of 'The Valley' community will not be daunted however, as a Go Fund Me page has already been created to recover the money for the kids.

The Go Fund Me goal is set at $500, and already has a few donations coming in. You can help by clicking here.

Let's show these kids that there are far more caring and honest people in the world than those who would steal from them.

In the meantime, Ilion Angels President Bill Pope says camera footage from Nice N Easy is being reviewed in hopes of finding a suspect.
