Over the past 30 years, thousands of coats and jackets have been collected during the holiday season to help keep those in need warm throughout the winter months.  "Herb" Philipson's is now kicking-off this year's drive, and has added a new element.  In addition to new and gently used coats, non-perishable food items are being collected.

Philipson's coat and food drive begins on Friday, and continues through the 11th of December.  All items collected will be given to the Salvation Army and Urban Mission.  Those organizations will distribute the coats, jackets and food to people and families in need.

You can drop off coats and food at any of the 9 "Herb" Philipson's locations in Central New York.  Lite 98.7 is proud to be a media partner again for this years drive, and we'll broadcast live from Philipson's New Hartford Shopping Center store this Saturday morning from 9 until Noon.  We'll do the same from the Black River Boulevard store in Rome from 1 until 4 p.m.

We look forward to meeting many of our listeners as we join together to help make the holidays warmer and brighter for many Central New York families.
