Highest Paid ‘American Idol’ Alum Is Carrie Underwood
Kelly Clarkson used to be the best selling ‘American Idol’ of all time, but she’s now been surpassed by Carrie Underwood. According to Forbes Magazine, Kelly has dropped to number five for top ‘American Idol’ earners.
As the top ‘Idol’ earner for 2011, Forbes reports Carrie Underwood made $20 million. That amount doesn’t include manager/agent fees or taxes. Chris Daughtry and Adam Lambert tied for second place, with $6 million each. Fantasia Barrino is third with $4 million. Coming in fourth on the list is Jordin Sparks with earnings of $3 million dollars. Kelly Clarkson is fifth with $2.5 million. In sixth place is Jennifer Hudson with $2 million. Kellie Pickler is seventh with $1.8 million. Clay Aiken is eighth with $1.5 million and there is a three way tie for ninth place between Katharine McPhee, David Archuletta and David Cook.
