If you're looking for some family-friendly fun this weekend, look no further than Rome. The city has a whole weekend packed with activities and events.

It's been a busy summer, hasn't it? It feels like there have been so many events and things going on compared to last year and the year before. Maybe it's because we've been having a decent summer weather-wise (well, besides all the rain this past week). Maybe 2018 is just an "event"-ful year (see what I did there?!). Either way, we hope you have a little bit of energy left for all the fun going on in Rome this weekend.

The City of Rome, NY posted on their Facebook Page yesterday (Wednesday, July 25th), a cool graphic that showed some of the top events going on this weekend. According to the graphic, the weekend activities start with the Downtown Market on Friday from 12pm to 6pm. This market is held at the City Hall Green and you'll find a variety of goodies from many local vendors - From fresh produce to homemade soaps and candles.

After the Downtown Market, there's an outdoor movie screening everyone can enjoy. According to the City of Rome, NY's Facebook Post, the movie is Wonder Woman, and it will be screened at Griffiss International Sculpture Garden at 9pm.

Saturday will be the big day for festivities in Rome. At 10am it's the Honor America Days Parade in downtown. At 8pm, you can enjoy music and fireworks at Fort Stanwix.

There's more events scheduled for Sunday and Monday, as well. On Sunday, there's a special "Fright Night Feature" at Cinema Capitol at 7pm. Then on Monday, it's Rome's "Monday Night Concert Series," with music by Loco Brothers at City Hall. That starts at 6pm.

Sounds like Rome is the place to be this weekend, right?! If you can't make it out (you know, other plans, maybe a graduation party or whatnot), don't worry, it looks like the following weekend is going to be another busy one for the Copper City. You can expect to see the Downtown Market open again on Friday, and next weekend is Canal Fest! It's probably best just to clear your calendar for the next few weekends and plan on spending those days in Rome.
