Yesterday was National Agriculture Day so I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to show our appreciation for our hard working farmers all over the Mohawk Valley.

National Agriculture Day is a day to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. (AGDAY.ORG)

I'll always have an enormous amount of gratitude and respect for our hardworking farmers. My dad was a farmer and I know that in order to be a success,  relentless dedication is required. Now that I'm getting out of bed before the sun comes up each morning, I'm reminded of our "early bird" farmers who have been doing the same thing for years!

These brave men and women venture out into the brutal Central New York weather and work their fingers to the bone regardless of conditions. What they're doing is not easy either: they strain themselves physically, they deal with less than "bumper crop" yieldings,  they nurse the sick animals back to health, they work long hours,  they endure financial hardships, droughts, floods, snowstorms, and cold, just so they can put food on the table for us!

If you see a farmer today, tell them thank you for their hard work and service. If you see a cow while you're driving home from work tonight, give him a honk or a wave. Feel free to pass this along to a farmer to show your appreciation for them!

I thought it would be a good time to repost this video!
