Over the weekend, I decided to clean out my freezer. Wow, did I find some stuff that looked like it had been there for quite a while. How do you know how long you can safely keep something in the freezer before it’s time to toss it?

Whole chicken or turkey can be kept for up to twelve months.
Frozen dinners are good for three or four months.
Roasts are good for six to twelve months.
Unopened bacon will keep for one month.
Ground turkey or beef keeps for three months.
Whole fish is good for five to six months.
Fish fillets for four to five months.
Shellfish is good for four to six months.
Cooked poultry keeps for four months.
Turkey or chicken pieces keep for nine months in the freezer.
