How Visitors View Utica [PHOTOS]
Gerardo Castanon is from Virginia and chose to visit the area with his wife who traveled to Central New York on business. “I decided to tag along,” he says.
While in Utica Castanon walked up and down Genesee Street. "It is impressive the kind of architecture just this street possess. There were some buildings that were breathtaking," he says. "I really hope local governments and leadership continue the development and rehabilitation of these treasures."
Gerardo toured Fort Stanwix and Griffis while in Rome, a city that reminded him "of many beautiful European cities. The combination of beautiful architecture and nature make it so welcoming to visitors.”
A stop in Oneida left Gerardo amazed at the options. "What a great place where you can pump gas and gamble in the same place!"
No surprise the trip also included a stop to take a picture of the iconic bull outside where Stampede Steakhouse once stood before fire destroyed the restaurant.
After touring Central New York Castanon looks forward to coming back when he hopes to get in some fishing. "You are very lucky to live in a place so nice, close to nature with tons of history."
