I'll be completely honest; the Insane Inflatable 5K was an incredibly challenging race course. I was up all night before the event, so it was a brutal run!

Ocean Blue restaurant commemorated their grand opening with a late night celebration on the Friday before the Insane Inflatable 5K, and Lite 98.7's Just Jen and I danced well into the daylight hours. I was completely exhausted when it came time for me to get in my car and travel to Syracuse for the big race.

When we finally arrived to the Lafayette Apple Festival grounds, Naomi and I shook off the sleepiness and prepared to jog, squeeze, and bounce our way through the obstacle course. By mile 1, I was completely spent. I typically jog 5 days a week, so I have a general feel for what a 5K feels like. This particular course felt more like a 26 mile marathon, not a 3 mile run.

When I crossed the finish line I drank 11 cups of water and collapsed on the grass. A few minutes later Naomi crossed the finish line, dripping in sweat, and feeling thankful that the race was finally over with. However, we both finished successfully, and since I beat her by a few minutes,  she bought me breakfast this morning!
