JCPenney is cutting 2,000 jobs and closing 33 stores.  Will the New Hartford location at Sangertown Square be affected?

The closest store to us that is closing is in New Jersey.  Thankfully there are no New York stores affected.  Actually the JCPenney in Sangertown Square is one of the first stores in the country to be remodeled.

The last place to close at Sangertown Square was Friendly's.  Instead of closing stores, the mall in New Hartford is expanding with DSW, Wet Seal, Ziddy, Sergent Major, Accessorize and Jennyfer, recently opening.

It's sad to see 2,000 people lose their jobs, no matter where it's at.  We hope the  restructuring plan helps save the jobs and stores left.
