Whether it's being done sarcastically or not, the word 'zombie' is being used a lot lately in reference to two odd incidents in Miami and New Jersey.  So, bottom line, is there anything to the whole zombie thing?

It is curious that officials fear infections from both of the recent zombie incidents.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta released a 'Zombie Preparedness' guide under the guise of prepping for natural disasters or pandemics using a pop culture.  The CDC reports that their message, using the pop culture/sci-fi buzz around zombies has been effective.

Is the CDC guide and recent events just coincidence?
