Jem, or you may remember the show as ‘Jem and the Holograms’, was an American animated television series that ran from 1985 to 1988. The show was about music company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, her band the Holograms, and their adventures.
Here is a piece of a Jem episode, ’Depends On The Mood I’m In’.
Between ’85 and 88′ MTV was hugely popular and so you’ll find the inclusion of music videos in almost all of the Jem cartoons. Actually the show featured 187 music videos with 151 original songs…but no Top 40 hits.
