If you grew up watching Will Smith's sitcom in the 90's, I think you'll appreciate this.  The original theme was written by none other than famed record producer Quincy Jones. Quincy is known best for composing Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "Bad," and "Off the Wall" albums. He can actually be seen in the show's opening credits. He's the cab driver.

Will Smith got his start as a rapper from Philadelphia. A television executive was intrigued by his lifestyle and upbringing, so he approached Will and "The Fresh Prince" was born!

Here are a few unknown facts about the TV show:

1. The show inspired Nike to manufacture a pair of "Air Jordans" called the" Air Jordan 5 Bel Air." The sneakers are currently selling on Amazon for around $700!

2.  In the first few seasons that Fresh Prince aired, Will was often ridiculed for his less than stellar acting chops. As a matter of fact, NBC executives nearly fired him. They decided not to because someone saw a budding potential in him.

3. Sherman Hemsley AKA "George Jefferson appeared on the show twice. Here's a vintage photo of me with Sherman and a few of my former co-workers.
