John Mayer + Katy Perry Call It Quits
Another day, another breakup for poor Katy Perry. The ‘Wide Awake’ singer is currently licking her wounds following a split from blink-and-you’ll-miss-it flame John Mayer.
Us Weekly reports that even though the duo were only dating casually for a few months, Perry is pretty devastated by the breakup. She was ready to commit to the ‘Queen of California’ rocker, who she may or may not have dated before she met and was briefly married to ex husband Russell Brand.
Despite being initially guarded with the notorious lothario, a friend of Perry told the mag last month, “She doesn’t want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go.”
Perry, who briefly dated the world’s highest paid male model, Baptiste Giabiconi, and Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd following her divorce from Brand, is sadder about this split than about her previous rebound relationships. “She is making it seem like it wasn’t serious with John, but she is hurt,” a source dished. Another Perry pal agreed, “She’s really upset about it.”
Cheer up, K.P.! At least this will provide more fodder for her “f—ing dark” followup to ‘Teenage Dream.’
