Have you had a heart attack, stroke, heart disease, or any other heart issue? Were you born with a heart defect? If so, we want to hear your heart survivor story - And you could be a member of this year's American Heart Association's 'Go Red for Women Survivor Class.'

Once again, we've teamed up with the American Heart Association of Central New York for their "Go Red for Women" movement. We're helping bring awareness to heart disease, stroke, and other heart issues, and we're helping in the fight against women's number one killer: Cardiovascular disease.

But we can't do this alone.

If you have a heart issue, you can share your story and help bring awareness to other women in our area. Maybe you had to have heart surgery when you were child, due to a birth defect. Maybe you suffered a heart attack caused by stress or you suffered a stroke and didn't know the warning signs or what was actually happening at the time. Maybe you've been diagnosed with heart disease. Any information you can share from your experience may just help save another woman's life.

Your story could be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

If you would like to be considered for the "2019 Go Red for Women Survivor Class," you need to be comfortable sharing your story in front of others, and in front of a camera. You may have to do TV and radio interviews and may be involved in "Go Red for Women" events like the Go Red for Women Luncheon in May and the Rome Go Red for Women Luncheon next year.

You can get all the details on applying for this year's Survivor Class, including the application (and where to turn it in) at the link below:

Download the application, fill it out and return it using one of the three options listed in the link above.

Applications must be filled out and turned in by March 29th, 2019 to be considered for the Survivor Class. The class will be announced during the Go Red for Women Luncheon on May 1st.
